From City College of New York 2018-2019

Brian Taylor join’s the CCNY Women’s Basketball Staff in 2018-19 with a desired skill set for today’s game that relies heavily on analytics, video and opponent scouting.  Brian worked last season with former CCNY Women’s Basketball Assistant Ben Newberg (now the head coach at Medgar Evers) at the Borough of Manhattan Community College.  Coach Taylor assisted BMCC with practice planning and implementation, game prep and in-game decisions.  He was instrumental in using game film and practice time to develop player’s skills in addition to preparing the team by scouting future opponents.

“Brian has the motivation and ability to breakdown game film, for both individual and team improvement and preparation, and I am confident he will make a huge impact on our program,” said Angeli.  “He is a great teacher of the game and has an approachable personality that allows him to communicate at a high level with such a diverse group of student-athletes like we have at CCNY.”  Coach Taylor will also be relied on heavily to create and administer both written and vocal team scouting reports.

This past year Taylor has also worked at the Success Academy Charter School in New York City.  He has developed girl’s AAU programs at the 8U and 13U grade level, focusing on skill and team skill improvement.  He is currently the physical education teacher at Our Lady Queen of Angels School in East Harlem.

From 2009 to 2017, Coach Taylor held assistant and head coaching positions for the freshman and junior varsity boy’s programs at Regis High School in New York City, his alma mater.  In his last five years at Regis, Coach Taylor made five straight city championship appearances, including three titles and a final season record of 23-2.  He also has extensive summer camp experience, working for the famed Five-Star Basketball Camps at Fordham University, Ramapo College and East Stroudsburg University.

Brian received his Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University in May of 2008.  He majored in Communications and Rhetorical Studies, with a concentration on Sport Management.
